Acoustic Nozzle for Data Centres

Data centres and server rooms are continuously improving their efficiencies to store and process more data. Improvements in computing hardware have led to an increase in Hard Disk Data (HDD) sensitivity to sound. Inert and halocarbon gas fire suppression systems, normally used to protect this type of equipment, can produce sound levels that may have adverse effects on noise sensitive equipment.

LPG have carried out significant research into the impact of noise on HDDs and summarised best practices to help reduce the sound exposure to HDDs.

Sound Engineering by LPG

LPG performed extensive research and modelling of gas agent flow to develop a novel gas suppression nozzle with a low sound power.
